Hello,
I am told the importance of hood, especially for the AEG version of Contax lens. I have just bought a 100/2 AEG and read your acticle. I know you have the Contax Metal Hood 4 for your 100/2.
I just wonder if Contax Metal Hood 4 is good (long) enough for 100/2? or Contax Metal Hood 5 is better?
How to choose a suitable hood for the Contax 100/2?
Regards,
Kelvin

I believe the 67 / 86 Ring + #4 Metal Hood to sufficient. The #5 hood is longer and it may cause light fall off or even vignetting as the 100/2 is stopped down. I have not bumped into flare or ghosting issues with #4 set-up, so I haven't gone exploring for other solutions.

That combo is sure to work ;) I like the K-84 metal lens caps too because that slides onto the #4 hood. The K-84 becomes the new "lens cap" and when taking the camera in and out the bag continuously, it's easier to use K-84 and leave the hood attached.
