Welcome

The goal of the Adapters forum is to have a dedicated area to discuss using non-Canon lenses on Canon dSLRs via adapters. If you have been using Leica, Contax, Olympus or Pentax lenses on your Canon dSLR for awhile - then you already subject matter expert! Try to remember when you first started out - where did you go for information? Could you find what you were looking for? How many 100s of hours did you spend researching this lens, that adapter, etc., etc.?

At my website (www.pebbleplace.com) readers email all sorts of questions asking questions along those lines. Those exchanges are handled privately and the information is buried in a virtual vault. For the last couple of years I have tried to figure out a way to make that information public so other photographers could benefit from the information. It doesn't fit cleanly in a website format, and writing endless pages takes time - and frankly, it's quite boring to do. So, I'm hoping this forum will fill that role. The goal is to help newcomers and save them some time (and maybe some grief).

At www.pebbleplace.com there are two databases:

1) Leica R Lenses on Canon EF Bodies - http://www.pebbleplace.com/Personal/Leica_db.html

2) Contax C/Y Lenses on Canon EF Bodies - http://www.pebbleplace.com/Personal/Contax_db.html

In addition to the compatibility tables there are also comments about lenses, adapters, etc. - check the menu options along the left hand side. There are also a handful of specific reviews of Contax lenses - check the review section for a list. If you can't find what you're looking, you can post a question in Adapter forum or try Fred Miranda Alternative Gear Forum. If you decide to post your question, try to think ahead - is what you're asking going to help others?

I hope you find the answers you're looking for & thanks for participating.
