I just got this lens a couple weeks ago and started putting it through its paces this past weekend. The first draft of the review has published based. First impressions are looking good. Hopefully I'll have more time to use the Contax 50N during the next several weeks - but it is really hot here! LOL Here is teaser take with the Canon 1Ds Mark III dSLR. This was taken at F1.4 -

Contax 50mm F1.4 Planar A Review Update

Updated the Contax 50mm F1.4 Planar N review with some comments about auto-focus performance and the bokeh rendering - http://www.pebbleplace.com/Review/Contax_50N_Page_2.html. Overall the lens is doing quite well and I may end up selling the Leica 50mm F1.4 Summilux-R (E60). That is a difficult choice, but it would be a nice financial savings. The Leica 50 Lux-R definitely has nicer bokeh, so the question is whether or not I'll carry the Leica just to utilize its bokeh. It's extremely unlikely I'd ever carry two 50mm primes.
