Leica 15mm F2.8 Super Elmarit R Manual Focus Lens (with ROM Contacts)

GENERAL INFORMATION - Reported June 6, 2008

The Leica 15mm F2.8 Elmarit-R already shows "M" in the database - meaning the rear section needs to be shaved at angle in order for the Canon mirror to clear. This is a major modification to the lens and in consideration of lens cost, this is a major decision IMO. Today we received some feedback which may be helpful for those who are thinking about making the modification:

Again, nothing new here (ie - no changes to the database), just sharing some feedback.

Thank you Dirk for your input! Again, hopefully Leica will announce a Leica R10 digital SLR at Photokina 2008 - then Leica owners won't have to resort to such extremes.
