The 100mm F2.0 Planar earned a "IFFY" classification due to the metal fin on the rear lens mount. This fin need to be file down ~1mm in order to mount on a Canon body. See the 100mm F2.0 Planar review more information

Once the fin is filed, proper fit should be easy. I've had three copies of the 100/2 - both AE and MM - and they have performed well on a 5D, 1Ds, 1Ds2 or 1Ds3 without any infinity focus issues. My current adapter is a HappyPageHK focus confirmation adapter (HappyPageHK is the seller's EBay ID). In the past I've used Cameraquest and DSLRexchange (no longer making adapters). I'm currently using a MM copy on a 1Ds3.
If the adapter is too thick, it can be extremely hard (possibly impossible) to fit on the lens mount. HappyPageHK adapters are generally 1.425mm and those have fit fine without having to use much force.
