CONTAX 45mm F2.8 TESSARAdapter and fit feedbackwww.pebbleplace.com/Personal/Contax_db.htmlThis thread is for ongoing discussions and experiences regarding the 45mm F2.8 Tessar on the Canon dSLRs such as the 40D, 1D Mark III, 1Ds Mark III, Digital Rebels and all other Canon dSLRs. If adding an entry about a lens & adapter, please include:
1) Whether the lens is a AE or MM 2) Whether the lens is made in Germany or Japan 3) Which adapter you are using 4) If the lens works properly at its minimum focus distance and at infinity

One user's comments ( FM Thread) --- Quote: Here's my report, all Kindai adapters and 5D. 45/2.8 - mirror hits lens shroud, not the rear element though.

CZ 45mm f2.8 tessar does not work with 5D with any adapter I have used, but I am happy it works well with 1D Mark III! It is a very nice and LIGHT all around lens with this body. I use to put it into the pocket when taking bird- and other nature-pictures with wonderful but heavy Canon Ef 300mm f 2.8 L Is. Optically, critically taken, not as good as CZ 50mm f1.7 in big apertures, but at 5.6. colors and contrast and also sharpness are already really good.
