This is great news for me as I think it is a great lens and don't think any other brands could rival it within 10 years, so could be a very good investment as well as the life cycle would be very long if it can be used on 5D and FF series.

The database shows that the current 50/1.4 ROM (E60) can be mounted on 5D with the shroud removed...one problem, the lens does not have a shroud actually, so is there anyone who really tried to mount this lens on 5D and would confirm this?

Thanks!

Hi all

Just got a response from an experienced ebayer:

"E55 previous version can be mounted w/o mirror isue, but E60 version has the mirror issue on 5D. Actually, I have the mirror on my 5D and Kodak slr/c cut the tiny bit and used this best 50mm lens and 35mm R summilux, which has mirror issue as well.

It sounds crazy, but Leica R summilux current version lenses are more expensive and hard to get compared with 5D or slr/c body. That's why I have gone the way....."

Cheers
