Hi,
I would like to say that I just succesfully grinded my 5D mirror to use a 35/1.4 Summilux R.
It requires a bit more grinding that for example Distagon 28/2, but it can be done and it's surely no more problematic than modify for other lenses.
It is important to grind the mirror till the lateral plastic support, because the back protruding element of 35/1.4 R is quite large.
No modification on the lens was done.
My 35mm 1.4 is a late'80 vintage, without ROM.
It works with a Fotodiox Pro adapter and with a thinner than normal Happypage focus-confirmation adapter (I requested a thinner adapter to reach infinity on another Leica lens).
